Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce Invites Businesspeople to Guangzhou Fair

     

    The Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry has invited applications from businesspeople who wish to travel to China for the Spring edition of the Guangzhou Fair, in April.

    According to an announcement on its website, the commercial mission organized by the Chamber is open to all companies, including micro and small enterprises.

    In October 2007 the chamber took 40 Brazilian businesspeople to the fair.

    Considered to be the most important trade fair in China, the Guangzhou Fair was first held in 1957 and has grown in importance and size since then.

    IN its two editions in 2007 – Spring and Fall – the Guangzhou fair received 400,000 visitors from 213 countries visiting 14,000 exhibitors.

    According to the fair’s organizers, the deals done at the fair in 2007 we worth a total of US/ billion, or 11 percent more than in 2006.

    The fair is held in the city of Guangzhou (formerly Canton), the capital of Guangdong province, and has two editions per year, with two phases each.

    In the first edition, the first stage is scheduled for 15 to 20 April and the second from the 25 to 30 April. In the second edition, the first stage is scheduled for 15 to 20 October and the second from the 25 to 30 of the same month.
